Peter M. Varunok, M.D., FACG

Dr. Peter M. Varunok is a board certified gastroenterologist. He completed medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center College in Brooklyn, completed his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and his fellowship at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Varunok has a strong interest in diseases of the liver, with many years of experience in clinical trials in liver research. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).

He is the Principal Investigator for all of our Hepatitis C studies, is primary Hepatologist for Premier Medical Group, and is Medical Director of Clinical Research for the GI Division of Premier Medical Group.

Dr. Varunok remains active in community affairs, serves on the Speakers Bureau for Hepatitis C and is dedicated to supplying health care to all those in need. In the past, he has visited Arequipa, Peru for a Medical Mission. He was elected Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association and is a member of the American Association of the Study of Liver Disease, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Physicians, New York State, and the Dutchess County Medical Society. He joined Premier Medical Group in 1993.
